Engaging Every Generation in Faith
At Mount Tabor, we believe children are a vital part of our church family. Rooted in the love of Christ and guided by Lutheran teachings, our Children’s Ministry is dedicated to helping young hearts grow in faith, learn God’s Word, and experience the joy of Christian community.
We offer a variety of engaging programs throughout the year designed to nurture children’s spiritual growth and build lasting relationships. Whether your child is just beginning their faith journey or growing deeper in their relationship with Jesus, there is a place for them here.
We invite you to explore, participate, and experience the love and learning that happens every week in our Children’s Ministry!

Sunday School
Infant – Adult
Each Sunday at 9:15 AM
Each Sunday we offer Sunday School classes for all ages. We have classes starting with nursery going all the way through adult.
Children enjoy engaging, age-appropriate lessons that teach the Bible in meaningful and memorable ways. No matter your age or experience, there’s a place for you to learn and grow.
Communion Classes
Grades 3 & Above
Year Round
Teaching children the meaning and importance of Holy Communion helps them understand this sacred meal as a central part of worship. In the Lutheran church, Communion is where we receive Christ’s true presence, forgiveness, and grace.
A Communion class guides children to approach the table with reverence and joy, preparing them for their place in the life of the church.
Seasonal Activities
We cherish opportunities to bring our church family together and reach out to the wider community through special events throughout the year. Some of our favorites include:
Easter Egg Hunt
A joyful tradition celebrating the resurrection with fun for the children at the church.
Christmas Program
Youth of all ages participate in presenting a Christmas program to share Jesus’ birth with the congregation. The youth enjoy the fellowship as they act, sing, and dress up to share Jesus’ birth.
Acolytes
Youth in grade 6 and above take part in church services by participating in acolyte duties.
Trunk or Treat-Halloween Carnival
A family-friendly evening filled with games, treats, and fellowship. Children from the church and community enjoy traveling from car to car as they participate in games and gather treats. Enjoy a hot dog supper during or after the event. This event offers a fun evening for everyone with great fellowship.
Christmas Caroling
Each year the Children of the church are invited to go along and spread Christmas cheer at a local nursing home with singing and handing out gifts to the members of the nursing home. This is an awesome experience that brings many smiles to the residence at the nursing home.
Vacation Bible School
2026 Date to be determined
Our summer Vacation Bible School is one of the highlights of the year! Kids from our church and the community come together for a week of fun, fellowship, and faith-building activities. Through music, games, crafts, and storytelling, children experience the love of Jesus in a joyful and welcoming setting.
Each day is filled with energy and excitement as kids make new friends and grow in their faith. Families are invited to join us for a closing celebration at the end of the week to see what the children have learned and experienced.
